Imru' al-Qais "The Wandering King"[]
Imru' al-Qais was the son of a Kindite king and an Arabic poet of the 6th century. He was exiled by his father because of his hedonistic lifestyle, before eventually returning to avenge his father's death and attempting to reclaim his kingdom. He is sometimes considered the father of Arabic poetry for his many contributions in early poetry.
“Wine today, business tomorrow!”
“Wine and women are forbidden to me until I have killed a hundred of the Banu Asad and cut the forelocks of a hundred more!”
